Job Summary
A real estate private equity partnership is seeking an outstanding VP level candidate to join their investments team to focus on the logistics and industrial real estate sector in Germany.Our client has over 100 assets in their portfolio totalling more than 1.3 million square meters and circa €4bn of AUM.
The successful candidate will take a primary role in the expansion of German AUM to €1bn of AUM as well as managing the local investment team & staffing. The primary responsibility of the role will be to source and acquire Core+, Value Add and development opportunities in Germany with a focus on urban markets (Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt etc.)
Experience of ground up development, extensive refurbishment and repositioning of distribution assets, both big box and smaller last mile units, will be required as will experience within a real estate private equity investment environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Identifying investment opportunities and sourcing deals through various channels such as direct outreach, Canvassing, broker relationships, and private contacts.
• Leading deal execution, including preparing investment committee memos, underwriting, negotiating contracts, conducting due diligence, and presenting findings.
• Overseeing underwriting processes, including repositioning strategies, capital expenditure programs, and assessment of ERV and exit cap.
• Managing and growing the investment team in Germany.
• Driving the expansion of the company’s strategy into new markets.
• Conducting market research and analysis, including ownership of database such as comparable transactions and relevant proprietary data.
The successful candidate will require the following:
• Fluency in German and English
• Prior work experience in real estate investing, logistics experience preferable
• Highly motivated and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavours
• Ability to multi-task and execute a wide range of assignments, often under competing deadlines
• Ability to produce creative, compelling, detailed materials and information for Investment Committee, strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to write and present effectively
• Demonstrated ability to interface with senior leaders to communicate goals, key initiatives and results
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn
• Operate with the highest degree of integrity, motivation, and intellectual curiosity
Salary: highly competitive, plus discretionary bonus and carry
Location: Full time based in London office with Pan European travel
