Our client, established in 1988,  is a mid sized family office which specializes in the investment and development of neighbourhood shopping centres.  They have a small but stable team, and are losing a staff member for the first time in 8 years. With a strong presence in KZN, and properties in Johannesburg and Cape Town, they own and manage over 30  community-centric retail hubs which house at least 900 tenants. 

They have taken this rare opportunity for change in their team to reconsider what their tenants really need, and have decided to hire, for the first time ever, someone to champion utilities analysis and management. In this role, you’ll be administering and coordinating utilities for the entire portfolio. Your responsibilities will include understanding consumption tracking, analyzing utility data, and ensuring accurate billing for tenants. You'll work closely with external utilities service providers to fix any issues before the billing run and handle queries from tenants. You’ll also be the point of contact for municipalities and Eskom, making dispute resolution skills crucial.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of utilities within retail or commercial property management. Experience dealing with municipalities and Eskom is beneficial, and proficiency in MDA and Excel is a must. Above all, strong communication and administrative skills will set you up for success in this role. They are looking for an experienced candidate, with the ability to handle and resolve queries with confidence, with a good overall understanding of the billing process and municipal rates.
