Job Summary

The Associate, Asset Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the asset management team in optimizing the performance of the multifamily portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multifamily operations, financial analysis, and asset management strategies. This role will require a proactive approach in monitoring property performance, identifying opportunities for value enhancement, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management and oversight of a portfolio of multifamily assets, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including cash flow modeling, variance analysis, and budget forecasting. Support the preparation of quarterly and annual asset reports for investors and senior management.
  • Monitor and analyze property-level performance metrics, such as occupancy, rent collection, and expense management. Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and asset value.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of capital improvement projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about trends, competition, and economic conditions that could impact the portfolio. Provide insights and recommendations based on findings.
  • Support investor communication efforts, including the preparation of investor reports, presentations, and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating risks associated with the portfolio, including financial, operational, and market risks.
  • Work closely with property management teams, leasing agents, and other internal departments to ensure seamless operations and successful asset management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and procedures across the portfolio.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPM, CFA) is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in asset management, real estate finance, or property management, with a focus on multifamily housing.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Excel. Familiarity with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and other industry-related tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and investors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
