Job Summary
Our client, a prominent real estate conglomerate with over five decades of industry experience, is seeking a Utilities Manager. Recently reorganized into one of three entities within a broader group, they specialize in residential properties and lightweight commercial buildings. While their primary focus is Johannesburg CBD, their operations have expanded across major provinces.The Utilities Manager will oversee a team of analysts and administrators, reporting directly to the Financial Director. This office-based role involves providing strategic feedback to various internal stakeholders and ensuring the efficiency of the company’s utilities management.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Identify and resolve utility and metering issues.
• Compile and manage utility budgets.
• Oversee service provider performance and charges.
• Stay informed about relevant utility rate changes.
• Evaluate utility budget utilization (cost vs. actual).
• Analyze trends and proactively recommend solutions.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports.
• Assess monthly data and pinpoint problem areas.
• Develop and maintain a database structure for quality tracking.
• Resolve data discrepancies.
• Represent the company in utility investigations and disputes.
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience as a Utilities Manager, Analyst, or Controller in real estate.
• Relevant tertiary degree with strong financial acumen.
• Proven ability to manage large teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
