Macdonald & Company are delighted to have been appointed by Indurent to appoint a new Deputy Head of Development who will help to bring forward their exciting growth strategy, operating out of London & Birmingham.THE COMPANY

THE ROLE
This is the ideal role for a senior development professional who is seeking to evolve their career into higher levels of management and leadership. Alongside the Head of Development, this person will be accountable for delivering the strategic business objectives for the cross-functional Development team that includes planning, construction and development colleagues. You will:
- Drive performance and financial returns,
- Deliver a consistent development pipeline in excess of 2m sf pa,
- Unlock and accelerate developments by working with the team to design market facing schemes that deliver a best-in-class product,
- Deliver schemes to business plan and underwrite, accurately forecasting programme, returns and cashflows
- Drive leasing and secure build to suit lettings through an established and extensive agency network
- Support the Head of Development in meeting the strategic objectives of the Development Team at Indurent
- Support the Head of Development in meeting the strategic objectives of the Development Team at Indurent
- Help formulate and implement initiatives to enhance organisational efficiency and consistency
- Deliver against Development Team business objectives and targets: ERV secured, Sf delivered, planning applications and consents, cost savings and sf acquired.
- Help design and implement market facing development schemes and maximise financial returns
- Oversee pipeline reporting including programmes, financials, projections and cashflows
- Work with the team to accelerate leasing success by securing build to suit opportunities and pre-lets
- Implement the agreed land acquisition strategy
- Drive value through the strategic land bank, working alongside Planning to liaise with external bodies and secure planning permission
- Mentor, develop and inspire the team
- Promote Indurent’s brand with external stakeholders so that they are considered as a developer of choice for MLI and logistics assets across the UK
THE PERSON
It is envisaged that you will be a highly regarded UK based Industrial & Logistics Development expert who has operated from cradle to grave and has the ability to interpret and present comprehensive financial reports. Likely a Chartered Surveyor you will have:
- Strong development experience, ideally within I&L
- Strategic and commercial acumen
- Proven leadership qualities with a track record of successfully managing a multi-disciplined team
- Demonstrated track record in delivery of relevant development opportunities and successfully negotiating and managing all aspects of acquisition, development, planning, construction and leasing
- Exceptional technical, management and financial skills
- Strong professional network across the UK I&L Sector
- Full valid driving licence
