Job Summary

Ready to make an impact in a fast-growing company? If you’re an innovative HR professional with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for people, we’d love to hear from you.

Our client is a privately owned residential property development and management company boasting an impressive portfolio of leisure freestanding houses and apartments across South Africa's metropolitan areas. Working with award-winning developers, they provide high-end luxury homes, lifestyle apartments, and student accommodation rentals, currently managing almost 10,000 units. Offering a family-oriented office with extensive growth, they are seeking a highly proficient and skilled Human Capital Manager to become a key player in a three-person HR team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for all HR-related matters, managing a headcount of 175 employees. They need someone who excels not only in the nitty-gritty of HR tasks but also in bringing fresh ideas to the table and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

As their Human Capital Manager, you'll streamline HR processes and work closely with management to enhance staff morale. You'll ensure compliance with regulations, update policies, and lead recruitment efforts to onboard top talent. By handling disciplinary issues fairly, you'll bridge communication between management and employees, addressing grievances and managing performance evaluations. Your role includes developing and updating HR policies, maintaining the employee handbook, and implementing wellness programmes. Administrative duties involve managing employee records, compensation, benefits, and leave. You’ll also handle occupational injury claims and oversee employment equity, report on key metrics, and lead skills development initiatives. Additionally, you’ll manage BBBEE compliance in collaboration with the finance team.

To be suited for this role, you will need the following skills:
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Human Resources Manager/Generalist position.
  • Knowledge of KPI measurements, succession planning, industrial relations, recruitment, training and development, and employee wellness initiatives.
  • Proficiency with HR software and technological tools.
